Much like a “Farm Stay”, our Sanctuary is the perfect getaway for all animal lovers.
All of the residents at the sanctuary were rescued or adopted and as a registered charity all money will go directly to help feed the animals, vet bills and other costs.
We are now also taking direct bookings for our sanctuary accommodation which will save you Airbnb/Booking.com Fees. Please contact/email us with the dates you would like to stay (availability can be checked via our airbnb listings) and we will give you a price for those dates.. Please note before we block the dates of your intended stay, remittance/proof of a 50% non-refundable deposit must be received. The final payment will be required 72 hours (3 days) before your stay.
A full refund will be given if COVID-19 Travel Restrictions mean you cannot stay, or alternatively if you wish a travel credit for a future stay (please note prices do change based on weekend, holiday and seasonal price changes). Private Bedroom w/ Shared Bathroom & Living Room
Accommodation option #2 includes your own private bedroom with double bed, built-in wardrobe, and a shared shower, bath and toilet. There is also a shared living room and dining room. The home has a reverse-cycle, refrigerated air conditioner and heater, ducted into each bedroom and living room. Please note while all care is taken to keep the common areas clean there are two small Maltese dogs, cats that live inside the house, as well as from time to time other small animals inside. Free Wi-Fi is available thanks to NBN Satellite, & the area has Telstra reception. 2-Bedrooms, Ensuite Bathroom, & Private Lounge Room
Accommodation option 1# includes your own private master bedroom with en suite, private shower, toilet and walk-in wardrobe. The area also includes a second smaller bedroom with private access. There is also a private lounge room with dining table, and a pull-out sofa bed, so all up the area can sleep up to 6 people if you wish. The only shared areas are a full-sized kitchen with gas stovetop, oven, microwave, fridge, and a laundry. Please note the private bedrooms, bathroom and living/dining room are separated by a common kitchen and another living room and bathroom. Accommodation option #3 includes all 3 bedrooms combining options #1 and options #2 and can sleep 6 people comfortably, and even up to 8 people with two-people on the fold-out sofa bed. Stay in a big colonial homestead with lovely views all around. Soak up the sunrise or sunset from the large verandahs, or star gaze under the bright southern stars with the closest neighbour out of sight on a farm more than a kilometre away.

A Better Life Animal Sanctuary is situated an hour and a half away from Perth and just 25kms away from the York town centre, Western Australia’s first inland town. Home to the Avon River, Skydiving, Hot Air Ballooning, Motor Museum, Residency Museum, and arts & crafts / vintage stores. You can also stop by on the way to Wave Rock or Kalgoorlie.
A Better Life Animal Sanctuary was started in 2018 as a way to help homeless farm animals. From the humble beginnings of adopting dogs and rabbits, to adopting our first farm animal, a rooster named Buddy. Later on we rehomed a two-day old piglet named Phoebe who was left in a cardboard box at a zoo entry, Tommy the calf who was rescued from a sales yard, and The Addams family flock of sheep who needed a new home. Of course these are just a few examples and almost 100 others call A Better Life Animal Sanctuary their forever home. Both hosts speak English and one host speaks Chinese-Mandarin. Accommodation also includes a private tour of the sanctuary and you are welcome to help feed the animals both in the mornings and dusk at each day.
