Volunteer With Us
Want to work alongside our team to help us make a meaningful difference in the lives of rescued animals?
Below are a few different roles we need help with if you want to get involved!
On-Site Volunteer Opportunities
Busy Bee Volunteers
Come along to our regular busy bee events and help us with sanctuary projects and maintenance. Anyone is welcome (provided you are over 18), and no particular skill-set is necessary to help. There is no minimum committment for attendance - so you can come to as many or as few busy bees as works for you.
Our busy bee events are posted to our facebook page — follow us to keep up to date on upcoming events.
Regular On-Site Volunteers
Coming up to the sanctuary on a regular basis to help with on-site maintenance tasks to help keep the sanctuary running. This role also involves the opportunity to spend some quality time with the animals and form personal relationships with them.
If you are interested in becoming a regular on-site volunteer, we recommend attending one of our busy-bees first to get an idea of how things work and meet the team!
Live-In Volunteers
We are always looking for live-in volunteers to help us keep the sanctuary running. Live-in volunteers are involved in providing day-to-day hands-on care for the residents at A Better Life Animal Sanctuary. Check out our profile on Workaway for more info!
Flexible/Remote Volunteer Opportunities
Social Media Team
Help manage the sanctuary’s social media presence. This role involves a unique opportunity for advocacy via helping us share the stories of our residents, many of whom were victims of the animal agriculture industry.
Volunteer Admin
Help us stay on top of administrative tasks to keep the sanctuary running e.g. permits, grants, sponsors etc.
Fundraising Team
Organise fundraisers, helping run our stall at markets, coming up with fundraising ideas etc.
